Do you feel the same way we do about the kind of Britain you want to live in?
A Britain where there is a first-class health service free at the point of use; where education is always a priority ; and where you and your family are treated equally and can feel safe and secure. This is the Britain we are working hard to build.
This is an exciting time for our Party. With Labour, Britain has got better. NHS waiting lists are at their lowest ever; school results are better than ever; Child Benefit and Child Tax Credit has increased; and there are now free prescriptions and free eye test for pensioners. And with a new Leader the Labour Party is moving forward to move Britain forward. Our goals are an end to child poverty; strong public services; and to continue tackling crime and anti-social behaviour.
Join us and be part of our journey. Maybe you already vote Labour at election time? Maybe you have thought about joining but not actually done it? Maybe you think you are too young, too old or too busy? Maybe it's because nobody has asked you. We're asking you now.

Labour’s purpose is fairness: fair rules, fair chances and a fair say for everyone.
In 1995 we set out our values in Clause IV of the Labour Party’s constitution:
‘The Labour Party is a democratic socialist party. It believes that by the strength of our common endeavour we achieve more than we achieve alone, so as to create for each of us the means to realise our true potential and for all of us a community in which power, wealth and opportunity are in the hands of the many, not the few.’
Those democratic values have guided us through eleven years in government: everything from the large canvas of economic stability, full employment and record investment in public services, to the fine detail of the minimum wage, free museum entry and civil partnerships.
Policy making in the Labour Party
Policy in the Labour Party is made through a process called Partnership in Power which is designed to involve all party stakeholders as well as the wider community in shaping party policy and support the relationship between the party in the country and the party in government.
Partnership in Power allows Labour to formulate policy and build towards our next manifesto over a three year period while also ensuring a year-round dialogue between the party and government.
We have now produced our third year policy documents; members should visit the Partnership in Power section of membersnet for more information. The six policy commissions of the National Policy Forum continue to meet and will consider all submissions during their discussions.
Join us and you can help shape our future.
